Your first visit
Your first visit is easy. Your initial appointment will consist of a thorough orthodontic examination to check your teeth and your bite, as well as assessing your specific concerns.
At this appointment it may also be necessary to obtain diagnostic records to work out a definitive orthodontic treatment plan. These records could include photos (of your teeth and smile), study models, or a referral for radiographs (x-rays). Radiography is generally bulk billed.
A standard consultation lasts 20-30 minutes.
A second appointment is generally needed. There is no charge for this appointment. This is called the Treatment Plan appointment or Treatment Discussion appointment. At this appointment we will discuss the findings of your diagnostic records, and finalise a treatment plan. We will go through the specifics of your personalised treatment plan, including types of braces, duration of treatment, retention, appointment scheduling, costs and payment plans. We will also address any final questions or concerns before commencing orthodontic treatment.
You will be sent a medical history questionnaire and a privacy consent form prior to your appointment. Please complete these forms and bring them to your appointment. If you forget to fill out or bring the forms in, please arrive five minutes early to give yourself time to complete these at our practice.
